The founding of Praise Dance
A practice for body, mind, and spirit.
Founded in 2003, each Praise Dance hymn lasts three to five minutes, and each series includes twelve hymns. Ten series have been completed. The practice has been shared in parks, community squares, hospitals, schools, churches, and workplaces in Taiwan and around the world.
Praise Dance shares the Christian Gospel, supports spiritual growth, strengthens the body, and cares for the community. Teacher Wu Mei-yun composed the music and choreographed the movements, creating memorable scripture-based hymns that blend dance into exercise and exercise into dance.
Each class combines graceful movement, rhythmic breathing, and gentle fitness exercises to stretch the whole body. Through daily devotion, worship, praise, and prayer, God’s word brings comfort to the heart, beautiful melodies lift the spirit, and movement supports health. Sharing Praise Dance also builds friendship and supports a fuller quality of life, especially for older adults.
